The only option...

...is to fill this post with a bulleted list. Bare with me here. Oh and leave a comment. Hello????? Anyone there????? ;)

  • Tomorrow is a work holiday because the 4th falls on a Saturday. I have plans to sleep in, run, do laundry, and maybe laze around a watch a movie.
  • Weekend/4th of July plans include running a 5K, grilling out with friends, a trip to the farmer's market, and hopefully catching some fireworks if the weather doesn't mess things up.
  • We have enjoyed a three week free trial with Blockbuster and are watching rented movies like crazy it seems. At least for us anyway. (see post below for the latest one)
  • Life will be crazy for the next couple weeks I have a feeling. Monday and Tuesday will be busy days @ work finishing things up and training and then starting a new job on Wednesday, new routine, new schedule. Could be crazy, but I am excited.
  • I can wear casual clothes to my new job so as of Wednesday it's jeans and cotton tees for me. Yes!!!!!!!!
  • We are grilling out tonight and I can't wait. I love the grill. It just feels like summer when you grill. Although the 70 degree and overcast weather throws it off a bit. Turkey burgers, new potatoes, and fresh peppers and onions. Delicious.
  • I've made a discovery that I may require more sleep than I realize. The nights that I actually manage to get 8 instead of say 7 (or less) I feel amazingly refreshed and alert. It's kind of weird. I should try this more often.
  • I miss the Farmer's Market. (see bulleted point above) We have plans to go on Saturday since I haven't been since it first opened in May. Summer squash here we come!

Happy 4th Everyone! I'll try and post pictures from the festivities later on this weekend. Have a great holiday weekend!

Documentary

Eron and I watched this documentary last night for the first time even though it came out a few years ago. It was pretty amazing. Very eye opening.
And in case you think just cutting out McDonald's is the answer, don't be fooled. Other fast food restaurants are just as bad, not to mentioned regular restaurants that boast HUGE portions, insane amounts of salt, and rarely an item on the menu under 1000 calories.
Let's start thinking twice about what we put into our bodies and watching this documentary is a good way to start by getting informed.
Yikes!!!

4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42

The numbers. That's a LOST reference for all you Losties out there. Just thought I'd throw that in. Oh and speaking of number 23, check out #23 on this list:

That's where I will officially work as of next Wednesday. That's right! I am going to be working for Zappos.com. Their main corporate offices are located in Las Vegas and their warehouse is located in Shepherdsville, KY along with other offices. I will be the Administrator of First Impressions as I work at the front desk in the reception area of the building. It is definetly strange to leave the seminary as I have been here for almost three years, but I am excited for what lies ahead. I am really excited about what Zappos stands for as a company.

You can also check out this special that Nightline did on Zappos by clicking on the link below to watch the video:

Weekend in Review

We had a great weekend. The CD Release Party was AWESOME and so encouraging. This new CD is so amazing and worth your time and money to get it however you can. I think the word on the street is that it will be on ITunes soon. Get it, seriously.

We had a great dinner at our place on Saturday night once my parents got into town. I didn't take any pictures, but we did enjoy yummy grilled pizza thanks to Eron's mad skills. Yum!

We also had a great morning of worship @ church (and a Happy Father's Day!). Check out the link for a great picture of me and my daddy on Father's Day. We then enjoyed lunch @ Cafe Lou Lou....a unique Louisville restaurant. Good food and good conversation about church.

So all in all it was a great weekend. Hope yours was as well!

Good things

Why not post on your blog in the form of a list? Sure, why not!

Some good things I've realized lately (in no particular order):

1- Summer time is the best. I love that it doesn't get dark until after 9:00pm.

2- Running a 10K = tired legs for days

3- Eating fish once a week really isn't that hard and it is pretty affordable too! We've been trying to do this and we are on week 3, so we are doing good so far.

4- Sojourn's new CD, Over the Grave, is going to be awesome. CD Release Party tomorrow night! Listen to some samples here. It is an encouragement to my soul.

5- Having a clean house is....well pretty much amazing.

6- Having painted nails and toe nails is pretty nice too.

7- Even when you think #5 is done, you realize there is still a lot of cleaning to do. How can a 2 bedroom apartment take so long to clean?!

8- Yard sales are awesome. Going to them and especially having them and getting rid of all your jun...treasures and making money too!
**If you are in the Ville on June 27th head on over to our HUGE yard sale!!!!**

9- I am not sure what to do with the large "crop" of sweet banana peppers that are growing on my deck. Any ideas?

10- My heart plans out my way, but the Lord directs my steps. Amen.

I can't believe it!

But I actually ran the entire 10K without stopping. I was slow and kept my nice slow jogging pace, but I finished it without stopping and that is a huge acheivement for me. I was really excited! Kind of unbelievable.
