Some more pictures!

The front porch of the duplex was empty (except for a few camping chairs), sad, and in need of some fun flowers and plants to brighten it up! I got some plants that will be able to survive the cool temperatures of Fall. I have also been inspired to maybe plant some flowerbeds in the back "yard" by our stairs and along the fence. Maybe some small evergreen bushes or some mums so we can enjoy their beauty for awhile before and even through the winter! This may become a Labor Day weekend project. I will post pictures if I'm successful!
**AS A SIDE NOTE TO ANY LOUISVILLE READERS--Derek Webb & Sandra McCracken are coming to The 930 Music Venue (@ Sojourn) in October--check out the info here. Awesome!

We hope everyone has a relaxing weekend!

Lost, Neighbors, Heat, and Back to School, etc., etc....

Ok, lots of random things to be included in this post:

First off--Eron and I have been watching "Lost", Season 1, via Blockbuster Online. Our third disc of Season 1 has gotten lost in the mail (no pun intended). Not sure if it had something to do with the move--but I have been looking forward to this and sadly dissapointed each time I've checked the mail for the past week :( If anyone else watches "Lost", they understand this...granted we've only watched a handful of episodes...but I'm hooked!

Speaking of being hooked...well, ok, not really. But, we are loving being neighbors with the Bebee's. We got to hang out some last night and randomly here and there just drop in and say hey. How fun! The boys enjoyed some hang out time on the front porch smoking cigars and talking theology. They loved it!! What a blessing our friendship is and will be.

It is super hot here in the Ville. SUPER hot. Like Texas hot. We ate a lot of salad this weekend, because there was no way I was turning on the stove or the oven. But, if I remember correctly it gets very nice in September---so come quickly September!!! It is making us thankful for our a/c though. Honestly, praise the Lord for air conditioned jobs, cars, and homes.

Eron started classes today. He'll be up bright and early and up at the school a little everyday of the week. With Hebrew at 7am Tuesday through Friday. Yikes, 7am! :) He can do it though, and I know he'll do a great job! Keep him in your prayers for discipline, strength, endurance, and a passion for the Lord IN his studies, that it would not just be academic or tasks to be completed.

We are still loving our church, Sojourn. Community Groups have started up again, so this allows us the opportunity weekly to practically apply the sermons and the gospel to our lives and to share our lives with our sisters and brothers in Christ. It is such an encouraging time for us both each Monday.

I enjoyed a trip to a new farmer's market this weekend. A few of us gals hit up some yard sales and the farmer's market. I will DEFINETLY be going back next week. Lots of yummy tomatoes, and I got a basil plant. It's official...I LOVE farmer's markets!!

Hope everyone is having a great Monday so far!

Pray for Bethany in Croatia!

I hope more than just a couple people actually read my blog, and I hope anyone who sees this can take a minute to pray for my dear sister Bethany. She is in the second week of an almost two week mission trip in Croatia. I think this last week is a super busy week as they help a church and put on a VBS. Also pray for safety and a safe return. And for rest for her and the rest of the team when they get back...I'm sure she will be so exhausted!

The team that went has a blog with some neat stories and updates on it. Check it out here.

It's been...

a crazy few days!

I think Eron and I experienced exhaustion like never before this past Saturday night. After three long hard days of painting and cleaning and painting some more, we moved literally ALL DAY on Saturday. Packing random stuff last minute, taking car loads and truck loads over, trying to figure out how to fit some furniture in, and then sat down to eat pizza only to realize what a MESS we had on our hands :)

Well, it's all in, it's getting organized, and we are super excited....but still super exhausted! We both took almost a 4 hour nap yesterday! We needed it!

I will be posting pictures soon, but I'd really like to have a lot of stuff in order, so the pictures aren't just of our piles of boxes :) Coming soon....I promise!

For everyone who helped us clean, paint, or move....THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! You have no idea how grateful we are!

Also, check out my hubby's update post here

New CD

The Sojourn worship band, team, musicians, whatever just put out a new CD entitled, "Before the Throne"....it is AWESOME!!! Here are the lyrics to a song I really like for something for your Wednesday I guess:

Lead Us Back

Falling down upon our knees
Sharing now in common shame
We have sought security
Not the cross that bears your name

Fences guard our hearts and homes
Comfort sings a siren tune
We’re a valley of dry bones
Lead us back to life in you

Lord we fall upon our knees
We have shunned the weak and poor
Worshipped beauty, courted kings
And the things their gold affords

Prayed for those we’d like to know
Favor sings a siren tune
We’ve a become a talent show
Lead us back to life in you

You have caused the blind to see
We have blinded them again
With our manmade laws and creeds

Eager, ready to condemn

Now we plead before your throne
Power sings a siren tune
We’ve been throwing heavy stones
Lead us back to life in you

We’re a valley of dry bones
Lead us back to life in you
We’ve become a talent show
Lead us back to life in you
We’ve been throwing heavy stones
Lead us back to life in you
