Time for an update

I guess it's time to fill in all two of our "viewers" to what is going on in the Plevan world.

  • As of this evening Eron will have finished his reading, book reports, and worship service reports for his first summer class. Yea for finished class assignments!! As of Monday he will start all over again...well he has been reading a lot the past few weeks and will be this weekend in order to get done by Monday...but he starts his two week summer class Personal Evangelism on Monday.
  • We both have off next Friday!! Woo hoo! Happy 4th of July!!
  • Kind of the same 'ol, same 'ol for me. Still working at the seminary, I have sort of (not as frequently the past couple weeks) jogging in the morning, so this means I actually get home around 4:30 after work. This provides for wide open evenings to get things done around the house, hang out with friends, hang out with my hubby, etc. It's been nice and feels like summer because the days are so long!
  • In some sad news, our yard sale, originally planned for this weekend, is now being delayed because of some pretty strong storms that are supposed to arrive tomorrow morning. Stink! We will either do it July 5th or 12th now. We hope to have good weather one of those weekends and be able to have this thing (and all our junk...I mean treasures) gone!!
  • Eron and I have a weekend trip to Cincinnati planned for a week after he finishes his second summer class. It's just a few days, but it will be nice to get away and really relax. It's going to be fun!
  • I AM GOING TO TEXAS!!!! It's not until September, but Sarah and I bought plane tickets and we are going to be able to go to Mara's wedding in September. We are pumped! And I will get to see my fam for a little bit too. It will be nice. I heart Texas.
  • Speaking of Texas, Eron and I ordered the coolest Texas t-shirts online this week. They are green, and his has a Longhorn on it. My say, "Kiss me, I'm a Longhorn" It is too cute!
  • I had a sweet reminder a couple days ago as I sat and read through this at my kitchen table in the morning before I headed off to work. The gospel never grows old and the Lords mercies are new every morning!

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Our weekend plans include chilling together tonight and perhaps watching some old LOST episodes online, working out at the gym and getting house stuff done tomorrow, and dinner with some friends on Sunday night. Enjoy your weekend, whatever it holds!

So...

I have this new website I love and I am collecting my recipes on there in hopes of printing my very own cookbook. Here's the deal though, I need three more people to sign up themselves and then I earn a FREE cookbook. And we all know FREE things are great!!!

Want to leave your e-mail addy here or send it to me and be one of my last three people that I need? PLUS you'll get to share your recipes with me on this website and look at all of mine. They are good, trust me! :)

Did I not?

Guess I didn't share a recipe on Friday. Am I supposed to be doing that every Friday? Well, if anyone is reading....check out this recipe. It's good. A classic you will make again and again. And feel free to use canned tomatoes if the fresh tomatoes are freaking you out right now.

Rainy days...or at least today

It's been a rainy day. Some storms came through last night and the rain hasn't let up much today either. Although it means a muddy backyard and getting wet on trips to the basement to do laundry, I still like the rain! It cools things off, makes things green, and makes you want to curl up on the couch and watch a movie.

Speaking of movies, last weekend Eron and I watched The Mist (by Stephen King) and we WOULD NOT recommend it. Bad. Very bad. It had weird dialogue, tons of Stephen King world views tossed in there, creepy bugs, and it was pretty intense. And a bad ending. So, don't waste your money on this rental. Guess that counts as my tip of the week!

I'm sitting here at work enjoying my new Chris Tomlin CD (See the Morning). It's good! Just a few more hours and then it will be the weekend! I feel like the next week is going to be busy. We are hanging out with some friends we haven't seen in awhile (our old neighbors) and then tomorrow Eron works all day while I'll be stuck in the basement pricing and sorting things for our yard sale next weekend. Yea!! Although we still have a lot to get done for that...hence the busy week comment.

If you'll be in the Ville consider stopping by next Saturday morning. We haven't set the time yet, but just don't show up at 6:00am and we'll be happy to let you buy our junk...I mean treasures. :)

I heart summertime

Summer is great! It has been super hot here, but finally we got back our normal summer weather. It is only going to be 79 degrees today. Ahhh, life is good. :) Eron has been reading a lot for his summer classes, but the pressure still doesn't seem as great as during a normal semester. I love the sunshine, the long days where it doesn't get dark until after 9, and the fresh fruit!

We enjoyed a trip to Huber's this past weekend and picked some strawberries. Here is a pic of us with the fruits of our labor (literally). We've enjoyed homemade strawberry ice cream (YUM!!!!!) and I made some strawberry muffins this morning with some of the strawberries we picked. They are good!
Until next time....

TGIF!!!!

Thank goodness it's Friday!! Woohoo. This day is going by fast and that means the weekend will get here even faster! We plan to chill at our house tonight. Eron needs to catch up on some reading for his next summer class and a movie may be "on the menu" as well. Tomorrow we'll be headed to Hubers Orchard and Winery. (Remember last summer?) We plan on going with Sarah and her mom, who is in town, to pick us some STRAWBERRIES. YUM! I also hear the strawberry preserves are "bangin!" :)

I think on the weekend "to do list" is also to sort through stuff for the garage sale we are having with the Bebee's in a couple weeks. Two weeks from tomorrow actually. Lots to do!!!

Since it's Friday I guess I'll post a recipe....maybe a couple. :)

ENJOY:

Green Chili (I plan on cooking this chili up sometime this week)

Granola (Scroll down for the French Chocolate Granola recipe. Minus the chocolate pieces, this has become a breakfast staple in our house the past month or so. SO GOOD!)

Veggies!

We got our first "round" of veggies last Thursday night. Some yummy looking lettuce and green onions. And the "mystery vegetable" that may be a type of lettuce, or swiss chard, or bok choy, or something....

I may saute it up tonight and test it out :)

God is good

I have to remember that, and this sermon:

and this sermon:

Have been such good reminders.
