This is ridiculous. I need to get better @ blogging. Ok. Time for some updates. I feel like my life is all over the place. Scattered, unkept, that kind of thing. It's good for me not to be in total control though and to give up checking things off my to-do list, but at the same time I want some order back and I want to be a good keeper of my home. I think just figuring out my new schedule and what fits where is what I'm dealing with here. Someone encouraged me this morning to take babysteps and soon enough I will find things falling in to place. Good advice! So here are some baby steps I plan to take:
-Use weekends to deep clean the house
-Make crockpot meals at least once a week if not twice
-Go through the huge pile of bills and old files in my bedroom and shred, baby shred! (this will make the clutter seem less---constricting)
-Get back into the groove of running and working out (This race will help me do that!)
And many other things, including going to bed at a decent time so I can "rise early" and get my day started right. I do have extra time in the morning that I didn't have before and I should take advantage of that.
Now...on to other things. Eron will start school in just a couple weeks, and although I'm excited, I am sad that the busyness of the semester will pick up once again. I always get so spoiled during the summer time. But I hope to plan a weekend getaway or two along the way to help us out!
Speaking of getaways, the trip to Texas was great. It was such a great time seeing friends and family. I will post pictures this weekend. That's a promise! We also had a great time floating the river. Ahhh....I miss Texas rivers.
Eron and I saw the documentary Food Inc. the other night. It was really good. Very eye opening. If it is coming to a city near you, I'd highly recommend it, and if not, grab it when it comes out on DVD. I'm sure it will soon enough. Makes you think twice about what you eat!
This weekend will be a busy one, but I still hope to use it to catch up on some housekeeping things. No, like really, housekeeping. I hope that your weekend holds lots of great things, but above all, some rest. The Lord designed us to rest. It reminds us of how finite we are and of the ultimate rest we have in Him. On that note, have a great weekend!

Has it Really Been That Long?
I think I broke a record for time in between posts. You can wake up from your state of shock now! And read on...
I guess even just a "little" life change like starting a new job can somewhat throw you in a whirlwhind. Adjusting schedules and just the overwhelmingness (is that a word?!) of it all can wear you out! But I have survived and I will try and be better about blogging now. So, here I am! The new job @ Zappos has been great. I've loved getting to meet all the new people and everyone really has been so kind and helpful. I think I'm going to like it here. They also love core value #3 (Create Fun and a Little Weirdness) so that's been a culture shock, but a good one! And the discount on shoes has already been used. Eron is loving his new kicks! :)
Summertime seems to be flying by and it's making me sad. Soon the warm weather will be a thing of the past and the fresh fruit and veggies will be no more. Not too mention the busyness of the semester will pick back up. But, it happens every year. Summer comes and it also goes. But it's not gone yet! I still have high hopes of warm August nights and many months of the Farmer's Market left. We also enjoyed unusually cool weather this weekend (70s!!!!!) and we took advantage of it with a trip to one of our favorite places, Hubers. We picked peaches, blackberries, and blueberries. Lots of great fruit. Yummy snacks for days to come, a blackberry pie perhaps, and freezing for future months. We got 13 pounds of peaches. Wow!
Speaking of cooler weather, I'm headed to Texas this weekend. Oh wait, nevermind, it's going to be 105! I am excited to see family though and celebrate with the Pickett family @ Rebekah's wedding. Congrats Rebekah and Nathan!!! Can't wait for all the festivities and hopefully some tubing down the river.
Until next time, hope this post fills up that Plevan Fam Blog shaped hole in your heart. I'll post pictures soon. I need to take the time to sit down and upload them. I'll also have tons from this upcoming weekend I'm sure.
We'll talk again soon I'm sure! :)

The only option...
...is to fill this post with a bulleted list. Bare with me here. Oh and leave a comment. Hello????? Anyone there????? ;)
- Tomorrow is a work holiday because the 4th falls on a Saturday. I have plans to sleep in, run, do laundry, and maybe laze around a watch a movie.
- Weekend/4th of July plans include running a 5K, grilling out with friends, a trip to the farmer's market, and hopefully catching some fireworks if the weather doesn't mess things up.
- We have enjoyed a three week free trial with Blockbuster and are watching rented movies like crazy it seems. At least for us anyway. (see post below for the latest one)
- Life will be crazy for the next couple weeks I have a feeling. Monday and Tuesday will be busy days @ work finishing things up and training and then starting a new job on Wednesday, new routine, new schedule. Could be crazy, but I am excited.
- I can wear casual clothes to my new job so as of Wednesday it's jeans and cotton tees for me. Yes!!!!!!!!
- We are grilling out tonight and I can't wait. I love the grill. It just feels like summer when you grill. Although the 70 degree and overcast weather throws it off a bit. Turkey burgers, new potatoes, and fresh peppers and onions. Delicious.
- I've made a discovery that I may require more sleep than I realize. The nights that I actually manage to get 8 instead of say 7 (or less) I feel amazingly refreshed and alert. It's kind of weird. I should try this more often.
- I miss the Farmer's Market. (see bulleted point above) We have plans to go on Saturday since I haven't been since it first opened in May. Summer squash here we come!
Happy 4th Everyone! I'll try and post pictures from the festivities later on this weekend. Have a great holiday weekend!
